What do we do with these?
Mid December 2023 I made the decision to stop bringing in more used dolls and focus on the dolls I had.
This choice was made after two spending choices.
This filthy, stinky lad from the Dig & Save:
And a 45$ baggie of dolls on FB marketplace i purchased to get some dopamine and then, after a night of insomnia and a day of work, drove 40 minutes to pick up.
I knew my hunting and buying was out striping my creating.
I’d brought a filthy clown home!
But I did fix him up.
Since then I’ve bought a few used dolls on whims or for specific projects.
Most whims have been in the category of dolls I couldn’t get in Japan.
For my own accountability allow me to present the dolls who have come home with me.
I was at Dig & Save looking for some sort of fabric for some sort of project.
Rainbow High dolls did start to come to Japan but they weren’t cheap.
I have been loving their articulation and twice snagged some from a Dig & Save, the above one being my second. The other two dolls that will make fine Botched Jesuses if my current ones sell. Less that a 1$ of dolls all together.
I don’t have a Shadow High Rexx McQueen but I’m looking for one. I think I could use the body with a Blythe head and made a Blythadook Babadook.
Next up, FailFix!
This is a line of dolls that came out when I was in Japan but were so short lived in America they never made it over there. It was a doll plagued by bad branding, idea, and packaging…but damn it’s a cutie
The glitter in her paint and the fact the eyelashes are raised in the sculpt made this a very very difficult face to remove the makeup from…the above photo was halfway through but she’s ready for anything now.
3.50$ at St.Vinnies
Last I bought this Rapunzel
I got her because she’s just weird. I might make her into a Pinocchio.
I’m planning to make a Jiminy Cricket but the base figure has been on a postal walk about, It’s twice come to Madison only to skitter back to Scranton
Maybe the dolls are talking…maybe he knows he’ll probably be cut apart and sculpted on.
